When my mother fell in love and decided to marry my father her parents called it a travesty.

A travesty.

How do I know this? Because my grandmother told me the story when I was 10 years old.

You see, my father passed away when I was 3. (more to come on the trauma my father experienced as a black man that eventually led to his death) This meant that some of the ‘stain’ in my mother’s life had also passed away and she would be welcomed back home …. and her parents would learn…
